In a genre teeming with talent and creativity, breaking through the clutter is no easy task. With “Without You”, Arizona producer LEESH balances an effortless, straightforward bass line, and injects it with captivating sounds dripping with energy and emotion. Straddling the line between intricate and simplistic is a tricky proposition, but the Tempe native succeeds with ease.

From its initial throbbing bass vibe, “Without You” will grab your attention. Sprinkling in vocals that open up the overall aesthetic of the track, the tune twists and spirals - pulling you deeper into its world. Sticking with the initial bass line throughout the song, LEESH harnesses a deep arsenal of sounds and effects to keep your ears engaged and your foot tapping.

Anchored by an oddly enjoyable detuned-bell melody, and intricate drum patterns that continue to build throughout, “Without You” reveals more sides to itself with every listen. While the drums continue to evolve with snare rolls and effects, there’s an underlying reggae influence at its core. Despite its pounding snare and bass foundation, the reggae bounce is there - enticing you to move and sway your body.

It’s an eerie and uniquely unconventional set of sounds that huddle together to create “Without You”, but there’s no denying they work perfectly together. With a clearcut focus on standing out and infusing his music with artistry and imagination, there will surely be more tracks you’ll need to add to your playlist from LEESH in the near future.
